The Foundation’s Mission
François Bel was a French filmmaker who aimed to show the raw, fundamental beauty of nature. His films are a call to respect and protect the world around us.
The Territory of Others, Fang and Claw and The Ark and the Deluge are his most prominent works. The foundation is dedicated to the preservation of his work and memory.
With this objective in mind, it focuses on promoting the development of the essay film, supporting environmental protection and continuing the dissemination of François Bel’s photographic, sound and cinematographic work.
