The Foundation’s Mission
François Bel was a French filmmaker who aimed to show the raw, fundamental beauty of nature. His films are a call to respect and protect the world around us.
The Territory of Others, Fang and Claw and The Ark and the Deluge are his most prominent works. The foundation is dedicated to the preservation of his work and memory.
With this objective in mind, it focuses on promoting the development of the essay film, supporting environmental protection and continuing the dissemination of François Bel’s photographic, sound and cinematographic work.

Participation au festival Les Rendez-vous de l’Aventure à Lons-le-Saunier du 19 au 23 mars 2024. Attribution du « Grand Prix François Bel » et remise des « Bourses des Possibles François Bel ».
Projection des films : « Le Territoire des Autres » / « François Bel, un pionnier du film sur la nature et le monde animal » / « Jacques Perrin : À propos de François Bel ».
Soirée projections « Hommage à François Bel » à Chamonix le 26 avril 2023. Projection des films : « La Griffe et la Dent » / « François Bel, un pionnier du film sur la nature et le monde animal » / « Jacques Perrin : À propos de François Bel ».
Participation au Festival de Ménigoute 2023, du 27 octobre au 1er novembre 2023. Soirée « Hommage à François Bel » le samedi 28 octobre 2023. Projection des films : « Le Territoire des Autres » / « François Bel, un pionnier du film sur la nature et le monde animal » /« Jacques Perrin : À propos de François Bel ».
